Wage Subsidy Program

The WorkBC Wage Subsidy program provides an employer with a wage subsidy to offset costs of hiring while you gain valuable on-the-job training and work experience.

Why wage subsidy?

You are motivated and enthusiastic but perhaps lack the experience or required skills for the position. You can promote yourself to employers by letting them know you are wage subsidy eligible while you receive on-the-job training. You could land a job that leads to a long term career!

Unemployed job seekers are eligible for a wage subsidy position if:

  • you are a resident of British Columbia and reside in the Parksville/Qualicum Beach area (within the School District 69 catchment area).
  • you are legally entitled to work in Canada.

If you are a job seeker and think this may be a good fit, call our local WorkBC Centre at 250.248.3205 to schedule an appointment with an Employment Consultant.

If you are an employer interested in learning how your organization may benefit from the WorkBC Wage Subsidy program, be sure to contact the Employer Services Coordinator at 250.248.3205.
